Beans on the Roofby Betsy Byars |
Betsy Byars Children's Author, Newbery Award Winner | ||||||||||
As each of the five members of the Bean family tries to write a "roof" poem, they come to realize just how great it is to be a Bean.
It was very easy to get out on the roof of our Morgantown home, and there were always kids on our roof. So it just seemed natural for the Bean family to be up on their roof a lot. Anna, the older daughter, has to be up there because she's writing a roof peom for school, and Jenny's has to be up there to write one too. Jenny's poem is so good I can hardly believe I wrote it. I love the roof. And that's the troof.
