King of Murder

Herculeah meets a murder mystery writer and has the uneasy feeling he knows more about murder than he should.

I know I’m on the right track in a Herculeah Jones mystery when I scare myself..  Both Herculeah and I were suspicious of Mathias King the first time we met him in Hidden Treasures, but neither of us know how sly and scary he was going to be.  We also didn’t know that Meat, Herculeah’s best friend, was going to be distracted by someone named Steffie.  When Herculeah is trapped in the murder room with the blood-red candles giving off a strange, dizzying scent, I thought she was done for.  And if she was, so was I!  I could never write another Herculeah Jones mystery without her.  I had to save us both
